OCT.12: Dr. Ramineni Foundation has honored social worker, Dr.Umar Alisha,Chairman of Umar Alisha Rural Development trust, Pitapuram with “Vishishta Puraskaram” award, This prestigious award carries citation, memento and a cash award of Rs. 50,000. Sri.Konijeti Rosayya, A.P.State Health & Finance minister, awarding the Vishishta Puraskaram in a function held at Hotel Viceroy.

Dr.Ramineni Foundation awards for 2006 announced

Dr.Ramineni Foundation, a established by Dr. Ramineni Ayyanna Chowdary in 1998, has been encouraging and felicitating young talents and renowned personalities in the fields of Indian literature, fine arts, culture and human welfare activities. The Dr.Ramineni Foundation awards include the Vishishta Puraskaram (citation, memento and a cash award of Rs. 50,000/-.), the Visesha Purskaram (citation, memento and a cash award of Rs 25,000) and the Pratibha Puraskarams (Gold Medal, Merit Certificate and Cash award of Rs. 3000/-) which are given to the top scorers in the 10th class examination from all the mandals of Guntur district. From this year onwards the Pratibha Puraskarams will also be given out to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd top scorers of 10th class from the Zilla Parishad High Schools of Guntur.

This year’s awards where announced at a press meet held Hotel Taj Residency on 7th October, where the foundation’s convener and actor. A.V.S. and foundational committee members Vedacharya Ramineni, Dharma Pracharak Ramineni and V.V. were present. Along with announcing the winners, Convention Center Hotel Marriott, Hyderabad was announced as the venue for the awards function to be held on 12th October from 6pm onwards.

The awardees are

Vishishta Puraskaram: Prof. K. Srinath Reddy, professor and HOD of Cardiology, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.

Visesha Purskaram: Prf. I.V. Chalapati Rao, eminent academician

Visesha Purskaram: Smt. Anjali Devi, veteran actress.

Visesha Purskaram: Dr. Umar Alisha, Philanthropist.

The Pratibha Puraskarams will be given away to 61 top students from the Guntur district.

Dr. Ramineni Foundation has announced its prestigious annual awards for the year 2006. Anjali Devi to be honoured

HYDERABAD : Veteran actress of yesteryears Anjali Devi and three others will be honoured with a `Vishishta Puraskaaram', a citation, momento and cash award of Rs. 25,000 by the Dr. Ramineni Foundation, USA.

Other winners

The other names include Professor and Head of Department of Cardiology, All India Institute of Medical Sciences K. Srinath Reddy, eminent academician I.V. Chalapathi Rao and Umar Alisha, a philanthropist of Sri Viswa Vignana Vidya Adhyatmika Peetham, Pithapuram.

The awards will be presented at a function here on October 12, said Convenor and film actor AVS and awards committee members Vedacharya Ramineni and V.V. Rao.

The awards were instituted by late Dr. Ramineni Ayyanna Chowdary eight years ago.

In addition, to this, `Pratibha Puraskaarams', were instituted four years ago to a boy and girl student who secure the highest marks in Class 10 from each mandal in Guntur district and Movva in Krishna district.

Accordingly, 61 students will receive the awards that include a gold medal, merit certificate and cash award of Rs. 3,000 each.

From this year, the Pratibha awards were extended to students getting the first, second and third highest marks in all Zilla Parishad High Schools in Guntur district, said Mr. Vedacharya Ramineni.

This year too the same is extended to 61 students one from each Mandal in Guntur district. These are rural places in Guntur and Krishna districts. These Pratibha Puraskarams winners are honored with Gold Medal, Merit Certificate and Cash award of Rs. 3000/- each. From 2006 Pratibha Puraskarams extended to students secured district 1st, 2nd and 3rd ranks among Zilla Parishad Schools in Guntur districts.

Awardees for Puraskarams-2006 announced

HYDERABAD: Dr Ramineni Foundation USA has announced the names of awardees for the Puraskarams-2006. It will present four awards - one Vishista Purasakaram and three Visesha Puraskaramas - to eminent persons who have rendered distinguished service to the society.

Padma Bhushan K Srinath Reddy, professor and head of the department of cardiology, AIIMS, has been selected for the Vishishta Puraskaram which carries a citation, memento and a cash award of Rs 50,000.

Three Visesha Puraskarams, each with a citation, memento and a cash award of Rs 25,000, will be presented to Prof IV Chalapathi Rao, an eminent academician, Anjali Devi, veteran cine artiste, and Dr. Umar Alisha, chairman of Umar Alisha Rural Development Trust, Guntur.

The awards will be presented at a function to be held here on October 12.

Disclosing this at a press meet here today, Foundation chairman Dharmapracharak Ramineni, convener AV Subrahmanyam, and member Vedacharya Ramineni said that the Foundation was set up in 1995 in USA in honour of Dr. Ramineni Ayyanna Chowdary by his children.

Dr Chowdary hailed from Guntur district and settled in the USA as an academician. The Puraskarams were instituted in 1999 to honour distinguished Telugu people in India.

The awards are presented annually to various distinguished personalities. The earlier recipients of the Visishta Puraskaram award were Dr GN Rao, director of LV Prasad Eye Institute, Dr. K Varaprasad Reddy, managing director of Shantha Biotechnics, Prof DC Reddy, vice-chancellor of Osmania University, Prof Shantha Sinha, secretary of MV Foundation, Dr K Anji Reddy, chairman of Dr Reddy’s Labs, Prof Yarlagadda Nayudamma, eminent paediatric surgeon, and Dr D Nageshwar Reddy, a distinguished gastroenterologist.

The Foundation trustees said that apart from the Puraskarams, the Foundation would present Pratibha Puraskarams to 61 students who secured highest marks in 10th class at mandal level and district level in Guntur district and from Movva in Krishna district. The Pratibha award would carry a gold medal, merit certificate and a cash award of Rs 3,000.

The Foundation set up the Hindu Association of Minnesota and runs Sangeeth Sahitya Samskruti Hindu Dharma Nialayam at Bharmanakodur in Guntur district, which is the native place of Dr Ayyanna Chowdary.
